Our Comelec commissioners should lead an ocular inspection to Maguindanao and ARMM and point the exact location where the precincts tagged by Smartmatic surveyors as ghosts are. This trip will settle once and for all allegations that nonexistent precincts abound in that hotspot of electoral fraud. A field verification – and not memos from the ground – is the best denial to that allegation. In the case of Metro Manila, a walking tour led by Comelec officials, with the media in tow, can dispel rumors of ghosts precincts. Mayroong P203 million na budget ang Comelec sa taong ito para sa travel. Siguro naman sapat na ang pondong ito para sa pagdalaw nila sa mga tinaguriang frontline ng laban para sa malinis na halalan. Mas mabuti siguro na puntahan ng mga opisyal ng Comelec ang mga nasabing lugar upang lubos na mapaniwala ang madla na ang kwento ukol sa mga multong presinto ay kathang-isip lamang.
